Registered Psychologist
Daniela is a registered psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and families to support emotional growth, confidence, and resilience. She has worked across Australia, Brazil, and the United States in private practice, community mental health, and social services, helping young people navigate a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges.
Daniela understands that every child’s story is unique. She offers a warm, genuine, and collaborative approach that helps children feel safe to express themselves and parents feel supported and informed. Her sessions integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy, adapted through play-based and trauma-informed strategies that are engaging and developmentally appropriate.
Daniela has extensive experience working with neurodiverse children and their families, including those with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning differences, and emotional regulation challenges. Having worked within the NDIS scheme as both a Behaviour Support Practitioner and psychologist, she understands how to create practical, evidence-based plans that help families implement strategies at home, school, and in the community. Her dual experience allows her to bridge behavioural and emotional needs, supporting children in developing positive coping skills while helping parents feel equipped and empowered.
She works closely with parents to strengthen family relationships, build understanding, and support consistent strategies across environments. Daniela is particularly passionate about helping children manage anxiety, improve self-esteem, develop social skills, and adapt to major life transitions.
Originally trained as a psychologist in Brazil, Daniela also holds a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, specialising in social and behavioural sciences. This training enriches her holistic approach to children’s wellbeing, recognising the role of family, culture, and community in a child’s development.
Fluent in English and Portuguese, Daniela brings warmth, authenticity, and empathy to her work. Families who work with her benefit from her ability to combine deep clinical insight with practical, real-world strategies that help children thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
